She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2005-2010), an MSc (2011-2013) in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and a PhD (2013-2017) in Epidemiology with a focus on mathematical and spatial modeling of infectious diseases. She completed a doctoral internship at the Brockmann Lab – Research on Complex Systems at the Robert Koch Institute and Humboldt University of Berlin (2016-2017). Additionally, she specialized in machine learning (University of Washington, 2016).
Her postdoctoral research includes work at the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM, Brazil, 2018-2019), applying machine learning techniques for drug discovery, and at the District Institute of Biotechnology and Innovation in Health (IDCBIS-Colombia/MinCiencias, 2021-2022), applying artificial intelligence techniques in umbilical cord cell-based therapies.
