Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, and Honorary Professor at Imperial College London.

Her research applies statistical and mathematical models to study infectious disease spread and evaluate interventions, with a focus on Latin America.

She co-leads Epiverse TRACE-LAC, developing open-source tools for public health crises. She is also a WHO Collaboratory advisor and a commissioner for The Lancet Commission on Infectious Disease Modeling.
